Restrung my mandolin

I ordered an orange oil for fretboard cleaning, a pack of mando strings and another guide book (by Simon Mayor) on wednesday. They shipped it out around 1PM on thursday. It arrived this morning on saturday! Wow! That's fast for just a priority mail from Michigan.

I received everything I ordered. It's my first time retringing a mandolin. I was so afraid I'd break something. So I paid extra attention in everything single thing I did. Even I taped the position of the movable bridge. It was moved a bit back after two months of playing. So I guess I'm comfortable to have that position. The strings' tension were so high. It's not easy to bring it up to tunes. It takes a lot more time to retring a mandolin than a guitar I should say. There's eight strings on a mandolin you've to know that! The strings that I replaced were made by GHS medium gauge. I haven't really play it yet. I want to rest it for a good amount of time.

I'll review the new guide book i got today. I skimmed it once. There were many technical aspects that he's teaching. So I think it'd be somewhat interesting and challenging. :)
