27th October, 2007: Installed Avast Anti-Virus Home Edition

After all the desktop customizations, I said to myself. Why don't I find a virus program that's free to replace my old one. I don't think I did any research. But there were two free virus scanner on the Download.com top download list. The one sits on the top of the list is the AVS free virus scan, and the firth down below is the one that I downloaded. Avast Anti-Virus Home Edition gives you all the protection you'd ever need for your PC. From Mail Shield to Network Shield. It's even got the P2P Shield which is great for me. It's developed by a Czech software company (Alwil) that has been around since '88. Their award page is longer than my toilet roll. I got my both computers installed with Avast. ^^

The only thing that I feel strange about this program is the customizable skin. Yea..it's quite unusual for a virus scanner, and actually I found it quite confusing with the mp3 player-like user interface. I wish I could get a skin that is more like serious virus scanner. The downloadable skins that they have available are not that appealing to me.
