Desperately looking for another TV show worth watching

I've watched Battlestar Galactica, Xfiles, Lost, Heroes (first two seasons), the Office and at last the Unit. I must have been addicted to TV dramas. The thing is I don't just pick whatever show to sit and watch all day. I'm very picky when it comes to choosing a show that I'd watch. So far I've tried Stargate Atlantis, Heroes season3, I couldn't stand how fake some of the so called special effects looked on the screen. Too much sci-fi special effects that don't look appealing to me.

I watched a few episode of a Canadian police drama 'Flashpoint'. This show has some flashy shooting style like CSI. But not as flashly as CSI:Miami. I don't like the fact that all the episodes (3 total) are pretty much the same with suspect/hostage situation. They spent a great deal of time explaining what happened and the actual negoitation. The action only takes about 10-20 seconds in the show. So if you're expecting action from this show. It could be a big disappointment.

I just finished watched two episodes of Ghost Whisperer. The first episode was scary...perhaps It might be because of the dim lighting in my room and the hour of time (12:46am). I have a feeling that this show will go on forever with the same format (Melinda meets ghost and guide the lost ghost to the light by meeting their love ones).

I'm looking for a show that would give me absolutely no clues or hint on each episode, which means a show that I'd have to guess a little. I prefer adventure, action type of show without sci-fi element (minimal amount of sci-fi plot is okay, as long as it's not spoiling the entire show).

I took a closer look these few weeks. I found out the majority of shows have some supernatural elements in it (Smallville, Ghost Whisperer, Terminator, Heroes, ...). There are also plenty of cops related shows (NCIS, Bones, Cold Case, CSI, ...). And yes there're three difference CSI series. This reminds me of the Stargate series, there are a few stargate series and a new one will be coming soon.

I'm hoping this show '24' I've eye on will be the type that I like. A show about CTU (counter terrorist unit) using real time countdown on each episode. I really hope that it's not another regular cops show.
